Xerox DocuShare Boasts Top Honors for Excellence in Content Management
PALO ALTO, Calif., Dec. 17, 2009 -- Xerox Corporation's DocuShare™ Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Platform earned recognition this year as a business-changing solution, one that companies around the world are using to drive cost savings and improve the way work gets done.

Accolades include DocuShare's ranking among KMWorld Magazine's "Trend Setting Products of 2009." Document Manager magazine, based in the United Kingdom, named DocuShare its "2009 Content Management Product of the Year - SME." The award represents the UK's only official recognition of achievement within the content and document management industry. In addition, PC World Latin America magazine named DocuShare version 6.5 as the recipient of its "Best Integrated Document Solution."

"This industry recognition validates the strength of DocuShare and its ability to drive long-term results that truly impact the bottom line," said David Smith, vice president and general manager, DocuShare Business Unit, Xerox Corporation.

DocuShare clients were also honored this year for innovating the way business gets done, including:

  • Niagara Catholic School District Board (NCSDB) received the IDG 2009 InfoWorld Green 15 Award. NCSDB uses DocuShare CPX workflow application @Work for School Boards to save more than $38,000 annually on printing fees. The 60-building school district now scans and publishes critical documents, such as employee and student records, lesson plans and board meeting minutes online.
  • Tulane University was named a Laureate by the Computerworld Honors Program for using Xerox technology to improve its Document Service Center's level of service while controlling costs. The university saved an estimated $80,000 by deploying DocuShare and scanning documents and forms directly into the ECM system - resulting in easier storage, retrieval and sharing.
  • Insurance administrator OwnerGUARD, Inc. and Xerox were named finalists for the AIIM Carl E. Nelson Best Practices Award in the small business category for excellence in the ECM field. The San Diego-based company saves more than $5,000 per month on print-related spend using DocuShare to digitize and automate its claims management process, accelerating it by 40 percent.
